Does Las Vegas Have A Major League Baseball Team?
I am taking family to visit there and besides casinos and elvis acts and stuff I wanted them to see their first baseball game (they're from australia). I know Las Vegas has a minor league team but i want them to see major league. Any suggestions? thanks =)

2008-03-24 04:39:58 Nathanial-Watkins says: They do not have a Major League team due to gambling laws, but they do have a AAA team that is connected to the Padres I believe. If you really would like to take them to a game I would suggest taking a quick trip to LA it'll be a fun trip to drive or fly there. it's about a 4 hour drive there.

2008-03-24 00:19:40 Palmer-Adams says: no ,but i bet it would be a great place for a new team! you might be on to something!most people who live in Nevada, love the California teams! all 4 of them!

Personally, I don't see a problem with it but sports leagues consider it unethical. In fact, the only time Las Vegas hosted a Major League baseball team was in 1996 when the Oakland A's were forced to play there for a week while the Oakland Coliseum was being renovated. The other time was in 2007 when the NBA came to an agreement to not have any betting odds for the NBA All-Star Game which was held at the Thomas and Mack Center.Your best bet to see Major League Baseball in that area is to either go to Los Angeles or Phoenix to watch the Arizona Diamondbacks.

- No, Vegas does not have an major league team.
- Your best bet is to travel to Anaheim to see the Angels (3-4 hours away), the Dodgers in LA (4-5 hours away) or Phoenix to see the D-backs (5 hours).
- The caliber of AAA play is good but there is no comparison to seeing a major league game with 45000 people in a huge stadium and a minor league game in an old stadium with 1,800 people.
- If you really want them to experience what a major league game is like, take the drive to southern CA or Arizona.
- Going to a minor league game in Vegas will not give them a sense of what baseball is like.
- That's like asking "I want them to see a professional basketball game.
- Should I take them to see the Lakers or just some kids shooting hoops in a playground."
- Trust me.
- Seeing a game in Vegas is a joke
